Q - Student Growth File 2019-2020

Introduction

The Student Growth File captures information regarding academic growth for students participating in the Learning Assistance Program (LAP). Districts are required to report to OSPI the amount of academic growth gained by students participating in the LAP English Language Arts (program code 37), LAP Math (program code 6), LAP Academic Readiness (program code 7), and LAP Behavior (program code 38).

Districts are also required to report student entrance and exit assessment data as well as the services used to support LAP students. There should be one record per student per LAP enrollment for the current school year. For example, if a student enters, exits, and re-enters a program, there will be two records reflecting two separate enrollments in the program. If a student is participating in or received services for more than one program, there should be a record for each program.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis of report results when the report does not return the correct records.

Student Program Selection

The report selects records from the [Students], [ReEnrollments], and [S_WA_STU_SpecialPrograms_C] tables based on the following criteria:

  • The student's school enrollment must be within the current school year:
    1. The student's school Entry Date must be on or before the last day of the current term.
    2. The student's school Entry Date must be on or before the current date.
    3. The student's school Exit Date must be on or after the first day of the current term.
    4. The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
    5. The student must not be excluded from CEDARS reporting.
    6. The student's school must not be excluded from state reporting.
  • The program enrollment must be within the current school year:
    1. The Program Start Date must be on or before the last day of the current school year.
    2. The Program Start Date must be on or before the current date.
    3. The Program End Date must be on or after the last day of the current school year.
  • The Qualification Code for the program enrollment must be populated.
