I - Student Attributes and Programs File 2022-2023

Introduction

The Student Attributes and Programs file includes one record for each student program enrollment in the current school year, aside from bilingual and special education enrollments. If a student enters, exits, and re-enters a program, there should be two records to reflect the two separate enrollments. If a student participates in or receives services from more than one program, there should be one record for each program.

Information for the State Transitional Bilingual Instruction Program is reported separately in the Student Bilingual Programs, File J. Information for the Special Education Program is reported separately in the Student Special Education Programs, File K.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis of report results when the report does not return the correct records.

Student Program Selection

The report selects records from the [Students], [ReEnrollments], and [S_WA_STU_SpecialPrograms_C] tables based on the following criteria:

  • The student's school enrollment must be within the current school year:
    1. The student's school Entry Date must be on or before the last day of the current term.
    2. The student's school Entry Date must be on or before the current date.
    3. The student's school Exit Date must be on or after the first day of the current term.
    4. The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
    5. The student must not be excluded from CEDARS reporting.
    6. The student's school must not be excluded from state reporting.
  • The program enrollment must be within the current school year:
    1. The Program Start Date must be on or before the last day of the current school year.
    2. The Program Start Date must be on or before the current date.
    3. The Program End Date must be on or after the last day of the current school year.
  • The Qualification Code for the program enrollment must be populated.

Description

Select Schools

Choose one of the following:

  • Current School Only – Includes all student records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click the School link at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.
  • All Schools – Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet selection criteria.

The All Schools option is only available when running the report from the District Office.

Current Selection Students

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The Selected [Number] Students Only – Run the report for students in the current selection.
  • All Students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.
If you are running the report for a single student, or a group of students, select the students before running the report.
School YearChoose the year for which to run the report.

Scheduling

Select Schedule to run the report on a specific date and time. The default selection is "Run Now."

Report Output

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report is described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

Program Start Date

The date the student enrolled in the program, reported in the format MM/DD/YYYY.

Rule: This value must be greater than or equal to the date enrolled in the district. If multiple district enrollment dates exist, then the value must be greater than or equal to the oldest (first) district enrollment date.

Qualification Code

The reason the student qualifies for program services. This field is not free-form text.

Rules: This field is required if data element I06 is 19. If so, the description from the Lunch student page is extracted.

If the value of Element I06 was not 19, 30, 36, 40, 41, or 42, then the field I10 is disabled from data entry.

The WA Programs and Attributes page is updated to display the following values for the I-10 - Qualification Code field when the user selects a value of 32, 33, 34, or 35 for the I-06 Attribute or Program Code field for 21-22 term and beyond:

  • (A) Referred by system's automatic referral procedure

  • (B) Referred by school or district staff

  • (C) Referred by parent/guardian

  • (D) Referred by self

  • (E) Referred by peer

  • (F) Referred by other

  • (G) Referred by system's automatic referral procedure & school or district staff

  • (H) Referred by system's automatic referral procedure & parent/guardian

  • (I) Referred by system's automatic referral procedure & self

  • (J) Referred by system's automatic referral procedure & peer

  • (K) Referred in prior year, referral reason unknown

The WA Programs and Attributes page is updated to display the following values for the I-10 - Qualification Code field when the user selects a value of 69 (Career Launch) for the I-06 Attribute or Program Code field for 21-22 term and beyond:

  • K120 | | | New Program

  • K121 | Oroville SD | Oroville High School | Oroville High School - Natural Resources

  • K122 | Kennewick SD | Tri-Tech Skills Center | Tri-Tech Skills Center – Automotive Technology

  • K123 | Oroville SD | Oroville High School | Oroville High School – Health and Public Safety

The Student Attributes and Programs page is updated to display the following new Qualification Codes (I-10 field) when the I-06 Attribute or Program Code field is 71:

  • (1) Desktop Computer

  • (2) Laptop Computer (Chromebook, PC, Mac)

  • (3) Tablet

  • (4) Smartphone

  • (6) Other
