F - Staff File 2020-2021

Introduction

The Staff file includes one record for each staff member teaching a course or assigned to a homeroom for the current school year in grade levels PK–12. There should be one record for each teaching staff member per district. If a staff member serves more than one school, then that information is captured in the Staff Schedule File G.

The ability to exclude a course from CEDARS reports is provided in the Staff (F) and Staff Schedule (G) files. The field Exclude this course from CEDARS reporting is available on the Courses page. If Yes is selected, all sections/staff for that course are not reported in CEDARS. Staff members who teach different courses are reported as long as those courses are not marked to be excluded.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis of report results when the report does not return the correct records.

Staff Member Selection

The report selects records from the [Users] tables based on the following criteria:

  • The staff member must teach a section during the current school year.
  • The section must be taught at a school that is not excluded from state reporting.
  • The course associated with the section must not be excluded from state reporting.

Select Schools

Choose one of the following:

  • Current School Only – Includes all student records associated with the current school that meet selection criteria. To change the current school, click the School link at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.
  • All Schools – Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet selection criteria.

The All Schools option is only available when running the report from the District Office.

Current Selection Staff

Select which staff members to include in the report:

  • The Selected [Number] Staff Only – Run the report for staff in the current selection.
  • All Staff – Run the report for all staff in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.
If you are running the report for a single staff member, or a group of staff members, select the staff members before running the report.
School YearChoose the year for which to run the report.

Scheduling

Select Schedule to run the report on a specific date and time. Default is Run Now.

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report is described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

The staff member's State Certification Number.

Rule: Must be a valid WA State Certification number, a Z number, or a temporary permit. This value must be reported for all educators who teach classes issuing Washington State Credit.
