Legacy - Virginia Data Import System

IMPORTANT- The Virginia Data Import System has been replaced with the Import Virginia Data Files > Historical Grades. Eventually this function located in District Setup > Virginia State Information will be deprecated in the future, once Divisions have the opportunity to become familiar with new import function located under Special Functions > Virginia Special Functions

This section documents the import file layouts required to successfully import student attendance and stored grades into PowerSchool. Access the Virginia Data Import System via Start Page > District Setup > Data Import System.

Use the Data Import System in District Setup to import the following:

• Student attendance records from the previous school year into the Student Attendance Summary (SAS) Table for Transcript (Legacy Version) and the VA State Transcript-PDF
• State-required fields for Historical Grades in the StoredGrades table.

Important Note: We strongly recommend the following:

• Creating a backup of your data prior to importing data.
• Limiting rights to the Virginia Data Import System page using page-level security permissions.
