TX Interchange Student Attendance

Introduction
The interchange schema for Student Attendance information can be used to exchange daily attendance or class-level attendance. The interchange schema can be used in cases where just absences are reported, or where both attendance and absences are reported. This exchange is used for both TSDS and PEIMS.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report.
Students Selection
The report selects which school records to use based on the following criteria:
- The student's school must not be marked as Exclude from State Reporting.
- The student must not be marked as Exclude from State Reporting.
- The student must attendance records for at least one day during the selected reporting period.
Attendance Selection
The report calculates attendance fields based on the following criteria:
- In the Bell Schedule, the period must be flagged as Counts for ADA, OR the Official Attendance Period flag must be set. If the Official Attendance Period is set, the report calculates based on the periods set as the Official Attendance Period.
- If multiple periods are set for either the Official Attendance Period and Counts for ADA indicator and the student is absent for either period, the report calculates the student as absent.
- If a student is marked Absent but the attendance code is included under the Present for Funding attendance category, the report counts the student as present.
Flexible Attendance Selection
The report calculates flexible attendance fields based on the following criteria:
- The student must have a Flexible Attendance Program Type Code of (02) HSEP or (6) OFSDP.
- The student must have ADA Eligibility Code of (07) Eligible - Flexible Attendance or (08) Ineligible - Flexible Attendance covering each day of enrollment in the flex program.
- Students with an ADA Eligibility Code of (08) Ineligible - Flexible Attendance do not qualify for Special Program Flexible Attendance and will be reported only with Regular Flex Attendance records.
- The student must have a minimum of 45 daily minutes. Days with minutes under 45 are ignored in the calculations.
- Students can have a maximum of 600 daily minutes. Daily minutes over 600 are ignored in the calculations.
- When converting total flexible minutes into equivalent Days Present and Days Eligible for Special Programs, the total flex minutes for the reporting period are summed, divided by 360 for HSEP and 240 for OFSDP, and rounded down to the nearest half day.
- For Special Programs, flex minutes are counted only for days where the student is a program participant.

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report is described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.
Students included are those that have attended at least one day during the year being processed that do not have an ADA code for the entire year of 0 or are excluded from state reporting.
Note: Summer School enrollments and enrollments flagged as Exclude from State Reporting are not included in this record.
Filename for PEIMS:
The filename must be in the following format:
District Code: Position 1-6
Underscore: Position 7, 11, 21 and 34.
Campus ID: Position 8-10 – If the file is generated by a user from the District Office, this value is 000. If the file is generated by a user from a school, this value is the three-digit campus id for that user. This allows partial files to be submitted that contain data only for one school.
Collection Code: Position 12-20. This starts with the ending year of the school year followed by the five characters Collection Code (i.e. FALL1).
Timestamp: Position 22-33 – This is YYYYMMDDHHMM where YYYY is the year, MM is the month, DD is the day, HH is the hour, and MM is the minute.
Interchange: Position 35 starts the name of the Interchange – InterchangeStudentAttendanceExtension.xml
