ESL First Enrollment Date


This report includes the date of first ESL enrollment for all students who were enrolled in the current year and have an ESL date. The report indicates, for each student, if the student has been enrolled in ESL for a period of at least 5 years. The student ESL Background is also provided for informational purposes.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

The report selects records from the Students and Reenrollments table based on the following criteria:

  • The student has a Date First Enrolled in ESL Program value set.
  • The student has an active enrollment or reenrollment in the year the report is being ran for.
  • The student must be in the selected students the report is being ran for.
  • The student must be in the grade level the report is being ran for.
  • The student must be in the selected school the report is being ran for.
  • The student must not be excluded from state reporting.

Select Students

Choose one of the following from the pop-up menu:

  • The Selected X Students Only – Includes only students who are in the current student selection.
  • All Students – Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet the selection criteria for either the current school or all schools.

Select Schools

Choose one of the following:

  • Current School Only – Includes all student records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click the School link at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.
  • All Schools – Includes all student records on the PowerSchool server that meet selection criteria.

Note: The All Schools option is only available when running the report from the District Office.

Date Prepared

Enter a date to print in the “Date” section of the report.

Report Output

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report is described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

District Name

The district name.




District Number

The district number.





The date entered at report runtime.



School Name

The name of the school. If the report is run for all schools, then this field is blank.



School Year

The school year chosen at report runtime.



Student Number

Student's student number.




The student's first and last name.



Student SSN

Student's Social Security Number.



State Student Number

The student's state student number




Student's grade level.



ESL Background

Student's district ID.




ESL Date

Date student was first enrolled in ESL.



At least 5 years

Indicates if the student was enrolled in ESL for at least 5 years based on the current term year being reported.




Student's school name.
