Section - Course Report

Introduction

Use the Section - Course report to collect the course portion of the Teacher Course Student Data Collection.

Required Data Setup

You must define the following information before generating this extract.

  • Courses must be flagged for ELA or Math Provider.
  • Sections must have the teacher of record information set as well as any contributing educator information completed.
  • Contributing Educators must be assigned to an individual student and the sections for which they are contributing ELA or Math.

Selection Criteria – Section - Course

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.
The report selects records based on the following criteria:

  • All Courses that have associated sections in the school year of the Term the user is logged into in PowerSchool will be selected.
  • The Course cannot be set to be excluded from state reporting.

Report Input – Section - Course

Data to be Filled

School Year

Select the school year for which the report is to be run.

Scheduling OptionsDescription

Scheduling – Run Now

Leave Run Now selected to run the report now.

Submit

Click Submit to run the report now.

Scheduling – Please Select When to run

Click the Schedule button to schedule this report to run.

Please Select Schedule Settings

Enter the Start Date and Start time. Click the Repeat button.

Please select repeat cycle options.

Choose the applicable option.

Please select end date range option

Enter the appropriate information.

Submit

Click Submit to schedule the report


Districts using the Automated Data Transfer (ADT) system may utilize the SQL script for state reporting purposes provided at the bottom of the report page.

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

CREDITAVAILABLE

The amount of Carnegie credit available to a student who successfully meets the objectives for courses that carry credit. Available Credit is coded as a one-digit number carried out to two decimal places. (Examples: 1.00, 0.50). This is an optional field and will be blank in the output file.

GRADESPAN

Identifies the intended grade span for which the course is appropriate and is represented as a four-character code with no decimals. Grade levels are represented by a two-digit code, ranging from 01 to 12; kindergarten is KG, and prekindergarten is PK.
