Discipline Report

Contents


Introduction

Use the Discipline Report report to report discipline actions taken involving suspensions and/or removals.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report:

School Selection

The report selects which school records to use based on the following criteria:

  • The school is not excluded from state reporting.
  • The school must be associated with a student included in the report.

Student Selection

  • Student is not excluded from State reporting
  • Student has reportable discipline events:
    • Incident Date is within the report start and end dates
    • Incident Type is not blank
    • Action Taken is either an in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, or removals to Interim Alternative Educational settings by either school personnel or due process.

Note: If Duration is not reported (null or 0) for a reportable Action Taken, the record will extract with a null or 0 value, respectively. (True for primary and secondary fields)

Description

Select Schools

If run at the district level, choose one of the following:

  • Select Multiple Schools – Select schools to include in the report. To select a single school, click that school. To select multiple schools, use Ctrl+Click and select each school to be included.
  • All Schools – Run the report for the entire district.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Select StudentsThe default option is All students. 
Use this option to filter the extract by a selected group of students.

Report Start Date

Enter the Start Date for this report.

Report End Date

Enter the End Date for this report.

Scheduling OptionsDescription

Scheduling – Run Now

Leave Run Now selected to run the report now.

Submit

Click Submit to run the report now.

Scheduling – Please Select When to run

Click the Schedule button to schedule this report to run.

Please Select Schedule Settings

Enter the Start Date and Start time. Click the Repeat button.

Please select repeat cycle options.

Choose the applicable option.

Please select end date range option

Enter the appropriate information.

Submit

Click Submit to schedule the report

Districts using the Automated Data Transfer (ADT) system may utilize the SQL script for state reporting purposes provided at the bottom of the report page.

Report Output

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.

INFRACTION

The field contains the primary category of infraction committed as noted on the Log Entries page, Start Page > Student Selection > Log Entry

This field contains the date on which the infraction occurred (MM/DD/YYY) as noted on the Log Entries page, Start Page > Student Selection > Log Entry

This field contains the method of punitive or corrective action taken by the school or court authority to reprimand or rehabilitate a student after an offense is committed as noted on the Log Entries page, Start Page > Student Selection > Log Entry

DURATION

This field contains the discipline duration as the number of full days as noted on the Log Entries page, Start Page > Student Selection > Log Entry.

Valid values: 1 to 180 (no half days – round to the next highest whole number; less than 1 day should not be reported as a suspension). If value entered is > .5 but less than 1 - 1 will be extracted, else 0.

WEAPON

This field contains the type of weapon involved in a weapons-related infraction as noted on the Log Entries page, Start Page > Student Selection > Log Entry. (required for Infraction=39, also applicable to Infraction = 03, 04, 10, 18, 22, 26, 27, 29, 42, 43, etc.)
