Introduction
This report includes a record for each student who enrolled in a Homeless/Unaccompanied special program. This report returns one record per homeless student per year. The homeless code from the first record for the current year will be reported for students with more than one homeless program during the school year.
The report includes “Unaccompanied Youth” and “Primary Nighttime Residence Code” along with common Oregon 56 fields.
How to Use: To successfully run the Homeless Students report the following steps must be done:
- Set up the Program:
- Go to District Office > District Setup > Special Programs
- Add a new program using any desired name, or modify an existing program, and select the Program Type of “Homeless/Unaccompanied”.
- Setting the Homeless/Unaccompanied flag for the program will determine which program is pulled by the report.
- Add students to the Homeless program:
- Select a student; to go Start Page > Student Selection > Special Programs
- Add a New entry, or modify an existing entry.
- Enter the student’s homeless dates (entry date and exit date, if known), selecting the name given to the homeless program during setup.
- Complete the homeless data entry using the fields of:
- Title X Homeless Services Flag (Obsolete as of 2016-2017)
- Unaccompanied Youth
- Homeless Primary Nighttime Residence Code
The report includes the following features:
- The extract output is a comma delimited .csv file.
- The report can be run at the school level or district-wide, for a selection of students or for all students.
This report uses PS_SchoolEnrollment, which is a reporting view. This view provides information from the enrollment view for PowerSchool application for both current as well as past school enrollments.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.
The report selects records from the [SpEnrollments] table based on the following criteria:
- The Special Program Program Type must be “Homeless/Unaccompanied”.
- The Special Program Enrollment must fall, in-whole or in-part, within the range of the Report Start Date and the Report End Date.
The report selects records from the [Students] and [ReEnrollments] tables based on the following criteria:
- The student's school must not be excluded from state reporting.
- The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
- The student enrollment record must occur during the selected Special Program Enrollment.
