HQT Teacher Sheet Report

This report generates two .pdf files, a personalized HQT Teacher Sheet for each teacher in the building/district and a building-level summary report to be used by building principals. The HQT Teacher Sheets and the HQT Summary Report are modeled after the Ohio Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) Toolkit available on the Ohio Department of Education website. Districts can use these documents to gather HQT information and signatures from the teaching staff and track the return of completed individual HQT Teacher Sheets.

Selection Criteria

A HQT Teacher Summary report will be created based on the HQT Teacher Sheet creation process.

A HQT Teacher Sheet will be created for each teacher in a building or in the district where:

  • a six-digit subject code is present on the section or course and
  • the Teacher credential is not 999999999 (indicating a Post Secondary instructor).

The sheet will indicate the current HQT Status for each teacher based on the HQT Status found on the section for each course. If no HQT Status is found on the section, the report will indicate the HQT status found on the course. If no HQT Status is found on the course, the report will indicate the HQT Status found on the staff screen. If the HQT Status is blank on the staff screen the report will return a blank in the column “Current HQT Status”.

Users can choose to run the report in one of two ways:

  • for all teachers whether or not the course(s) they teach is subject to HQT
  • only for teachers who teach courses where an HQT Status is required – this is determined by the six-digit subject code associated with the course. If the subject code is listed as requiring HQT status reporting in Section 4.7 Subject Codes of the Ohio EMIS Manual the section is included on the HQT Sheet, if it is not a subject code that requires HQT status, the course will not appear.

The verbiage on each sheet is copied from the Ohio Department of Education’s HQT Toolkit with a few exceptions. Since PowerSchool does not keep historical information regarding HQT Status the report returns what is currently being reported rather than the previous year’s HQT status.
