(FE) Student Special Education Graduation Requirement Record

Introduction

The (FE) Student Special Education Graduation Requirement Record is reported whenever an IEP determination is made to add, confirm, or cancel an exemption from the consequences of any graduation assessment and/or individual graduation assessment areas.

If the record is being used to report a granting of an exemption in a particular Assessment Type/Area combination, it is reported in the first school year of the IEP determination and every year thereafter, thereby confirming that the IEP team has continued the exemption on the IEP. This is true even if there is no change in the granted exemptions from one IEP to the next.

If the record is being used to report removing or canceling an exemption in a particular Assessment Type/Area combination, removal of the exemption is reported in the initial year of the IEP change and optionally thereafter.

If a student is never exempted from a particular Assessment Type/Area combination, then it is not necessary to report a Student Special Education Graduation Requirement (FE) Record for that combination.

Separate records are submitted per graduation assessment type/area.

When this record is reported, a matching Student Special Education (GE) Record (matching on Date and Date Type) must be reported for the IEP that reflects the determination of the exemption(s). The exception would be when reporting for the Graduation (G) Collection. The Student Special Education (GE) Record would not be reported for the Graduation (G) Collection.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. For the (FE) Student Special Education Graduation Requirement Record report, student records are selected.

School Selection

The report selects which school records to use based on the following criteria:

  • The school must be associated with a student included in the report.

Student Selection

The report selects which student records to use based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be enrolled during the enrollment period selected for the report.

  • The student is not excluded from state reporting (State/Province - OH > Home > State_ExcludeFromReporting or for a previous fiscal year S_OH_STU_SNAP_C.State_ExcludeFromReporting).

  • This student has at least one (FE) Student Special Education Graduation Requirement Record to be reported.

  • For graduate reporting students are selected if the

    • FE record IEP Date, [S_OH_STU_Spec_Ed_Grad_Req_C]IEP_Date, for the Date Type (IIEP, RIEP, AIEP, TIEP),
      [S_OH_STU_Spec_Ed_Grad_Req_C]IEP_Date_Type, is between July 1st and July 30th of the school year being reported

    • Student has a diploma date - Diploma_Date that falls within the report start and end date parameters.

    •  The student is identified as a ‘Grad Only’ Student (State/Province - OH > Home > S_OH_STU_COMMON_X.Grad_Only or for a previous year S_OH_STU_COMMON_SNAP_C.Grad_Only)

Report Setup

To set up PowerSchool for this report:

  • Navigate to Start Page > Student Selection > State/Province – OH > (FE) Student Special Education Graduation Requirement Record to identify the assessment areas from which a student is exempted from passing graduation assessments.

Description

Schools for which to run?*

If run at the district level, choose one of the following:

  • Select Multiple Schools – Select schools to include in the report. To select a single school, click that school. To select multiple schools, use Ctrl+Click and select each school to be included. Select schools to include in the report

  • All Schools – Run the report for the entire district.

If run at the school level, the report includes all records associated with the current school that meet the selection criteria. To change the current school, click School at the top of the page and choose the appropriate school from the list.

Current Selection Students*

Indicate which students to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

  • The Selected [number] Students Only – Run the report for students in the current selection.

  • All Students – Run the report for all students in the current school or district that meet the selection criteria.

Note: If running the report for a single student, or group of students, select the students prior to running report.

Report Start Date*

Enter the start date for reporting period.

Format: [M]M/[D]D/[YY]YY

Report End Date*

Enter the end date for the reporting period.

Format: [M]M/[D]D/[YY]YY

Reporting Period*

Select the data set for which you are creating the extract - (S) Student and (G) Graduation.

Fiscal Year*

Enter the fiscal year for the report.

Scheduling

Run Now

Select this option to execute the report in the order it is received in the report queue.

Schedule (available Version 7.1.1.)

Enter the start date and start time for the report.

  • Select Run Once and Submit to run the report at the specified date and time.

  • Select Repeat to set future dates (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) and Submit.
