Student and Student Snapshot Extracts

Introduction

The Student and Student Snapshot extracts are used to track student demographic and academic information in order to submit the data to the Nebraska Student and Staff Record System (NSSRS). The extract is generated in a comma-delimited format.

The Student report includes all students enrolled at any time during the school year and includes current data. The Student Snapshot includes students enrolled on a particular date and only includes data current as of that date.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report.

Student Selection

The Student and Student Snapshot extracts include student records from the [Students] table that meet the following criteria:

Students who are not excluded from state reporting.
Students who are enrolled in a school not excluded from state reporting.
Students whose school enrollment Exit Date is after the report start date.
Students whose school enrollment Entry Date is on or before the report end date.
Students whose school enrollment Exit Date is after the Entry Date.

Report Input

Field	Description
Data to be Filled	Select the checkbox next to the filter fields to save the settings as defaults. To select all checkboxes, choose Set All from the pop-up menu. To clear all checkboxes, choose Reset All.
Start Date	Enter the report start date. For the Student extract, enter the first in session day of the school year. For the Student Snapshot, enter the date to collect active student data.
End Date	Enter the end date for the Student extract.
Snapshot Date	Enter the snapshot date for the report. Enter the date of the last Friday in September for the October submission and 6/30/yyyy for EOY submission.
