2017-2018 CRDC Report

Introduction

The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is a mandatory data collection, authorized under the statutes and regulations implementing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Department of Education Organization Act (20 U.S.C. 3413). The regulations implementing these provisions can be found at 34 CFR 100.6(b); 34 CFR 106.71; and 34 CFR 104.61.

The report output is a .zip file that contains two detailed PDF reports, three audit excel files, and four .csv flat files:

PDF Files - use these files to compare your CRDC report output with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) CRDC Submission reports.

  • CRDC Report - LEA
  • CRDC Report - Schools

Audit files - use these files to audit the aggregate data

  • CRDC Class Audit
  • CRDC School Audit
  • CRDC Student Audit

Flat files - after auditing the data and making any necessary changes, re-run the report and use these files to upload the data to the CRDC system

  • CRDC LEA.csv
  • CRDC School 1.csv
  • CRDC School 2.csv
  • CRDC School 3.csv

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

Student Selection

  • The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
  • The student must not be selected as Exclude Student from CRDC Reporting.
  • The student must have a school enrollment overlapping the year-long term of an included school for the selected reporting year.

School Selection

  • The school must not be designated as Exclude from CRDC Reporting.
  • The school must have a five-digit CRDC school ID populated. This value must be unique, or the school must be designated as primary; otherwise the school's data will be aggregated with that of the primary school sharing its ID value.
