Staff Ethnicity/Race Code Update

Introduction

This report calculates and updates the proprietary Massachusetts Ethnicity and Race Code (MA ER Code) for staff members based on each staff member's Federal race and ethnicity settings. This functionality was previously part of the SIMS Student Data Update Report but is now incorporated into a new staff only standalone report. The MA ER Code calculation for students remains in the SIMS Student Data Update Report. The report outputs a tab delimited file that indicates which staff records were updated with a recalculated value and displays the previous and new values when applicable.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report. Refer to selection criteria for analysis when the report does not return the correct records.

Staff Selection

The report includes all staff members in the district or only those staff members included in the current selection depending upon the value set for the Select Staff parameter on the report run page.

Description

Selected Staff

Indicate which staff records to include in the report by selecting one of the following options:

The Selected (N) Staff Only – Run the report for only the staff in the current selection.

All Staff – Run the report for all staff in the district.

Note: If running the report for a single staff, or group of staff, select the records prior to running report.

Each of the fields displayed in the output of the report are described below. See Understanding the Report Output Table for a definition of each column in the table.
