Set Up PASI Direct Connect Plugin Security Permissions

PASI Direct Connect

Follow the steps below to provide access to PASI Direct Connect functionality. Based on their roles, users can have more than one option selected.

  1. Go to Groups under Security.

  2. Click the group name. For example, click the Administrator group.

  3. Under the PASI Direct Connect section, enable the functions for a user group.

  4. The security setup for PASI Direct Connect is divided into the following functional areas:

Function

Description

Find

Provides users the permission to look up students in PASI, view their profiles, and assign Alberta Student Numbers (ASN) in PowerSchool.

Create

Provides users the permission to create a new student ASN in PASI.

To have access to the Create function, you must have access permissions for the Find function.

Core Alerts

Provides users the permission to manage core alerts and data conflicts.

Setup

Provides users the permission to set up and configure the PASI Direct Connect functionality and data synchronization.

Only PowerSchool district administrators require access to this function.

Synchronization

Provides users the permission to run a forced synchronization of PowerSchool data to PASI.

Certify

This is reserved for future use.

Audit

Provides users permission to edit historical student demographic information directly on the PASI Student Profile.

Import

Provides users the ability to import demographic data from PASI into PowerSchool.

Credential Exemption

Provides users the ability to set credentials as exempt.

Mark Approval

Provides users the permission to approve school course marks.

Edit in PASI

Provides users the permission to edit in PASI.

SCM/CTS Force Update

Provides users the ability to see and use the Force update of all records option on the Manage SCM/CTS Validations page.

View Documents

Provides users the ability to view digital student documents.

Update Documents

Provides users the ability to add, edit or delete digital student documents.

Documents QA

Provides users the ability to pass or fail digital student documents for quality assurance.

Documents Problem Reports

Provides users the ability to resolve problem reports for digital student documents.

Download Documents

Enables the download button when viewing/previewing digital student documents.

Not currently supported by the Firefox browser

Manage Core Alerts

Provides users the ability to delete conflicts, rejections, and failures by searching for the alert type and code on manage screens.

Manage Document Templates

Provides users the ability to add, edit and delete document templates on the Manage Document Submissions page.

  1. Click Submit.

For example, to configure PASI Direct Connect for data synchronization the Setup option must be enabled. The table below gives you an example setup.
