How to Add Incident Codes & Subcodes

Use the steps below to create incident codes and subcodes. See the Appendix for code values.

1. Log into the District Office.
2. On the start page, click District. The District Setup page appears.
3. Click Incident Management. The Incident Management Setup page appears.

Click Code & Subcode Setup. The Incident Management Code & Subcode Configuration page appears.

4. Click on a Code Type, such as Action Codes. Previously defined Action Codes appear in the right pane of the page.
5. Do one of the following:

    • To add a new code for that code type, click the Plus button to the right of the code type heading.
    • To edit an existing code, click the code and then click the Pencil button. Note that fewer options appear if the code has already been created.

6. Enter values for the incident code, as seen in the Appendix of the Washington State Reporting Setup.
7. Click Submit.
8. To enter subcodes, do one of the following:

    • To add a subcode, click an existing code and then click the Plus button next to the code.
    • To edit a subcode, click an existing subcode and then click the Pencil button.

9. Enter values for the incident subcode, as seen in the Appendix of the Washington State Reporting Setup.
10. Click Submit.
