Setup for Administrative Schools

For TSDS PEIMS: If the LEA is building staff responsibility records in PowerSchool for administrative staff such as Nurses, Diagnosticians, Principals, Assistant Principals, Superintendents, etc., additional setup is required for PowerSchool to include these "courses" in the Educational Organization and Staff Association Interchanges.

There are staff responsibility records that might be created for your LEA for campuses 701, 702, 703, 720, 750, 751, 998 or 999. It depends on the funding code that is used to pay these salaries.

  • 701 is the organization code for the superintendent's office.
  • 702 if the organization code for the school board
  • 703 is the organization code for the tax costs
  • 720 is the organization code for direct costs for general administration
  • 750 is the organization code for indirect costs for general administration
  • 751 is the organization code for fiscal agent shared services arrangements
  • 998 is the organization code for the unallocated organization unit
  • 999 is the organization code for the undistributed organization unit

If you have staff responsibility records that end with any of these codes, these schools must be defined exactly as stated below for each code that you use. For example, if you do not have any records where the campus id ends in 751, you do not need to create this school.

  1. Navigate to District > Schools/School Info.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter the School Name, School Abbreviation, School Number, and select Exclude from State Reporting.
    1. PowerSchool recommends that the name of the school be State XXX, such as State 701, State 702, State 703, etc.
    2. PowerSchool recommends that the abbreviation be ST701, ST702, ST703, etc.
    3. The School Number must be 701, 702, 703, 720, 750, 751, 998 or 999. It cannot be any other school number.
    4. Make sure that you exclude these schools from state reporting.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Repeat for all of the schools that need to be created.
  6. Change to each school created and create the Year term for the appropriate school year. (i.e. 2015-2016).
