Custom Reports
This feature enables the user to create custom iReports using PowerSchool data and run those reports from within PowerSchool. PowerSchool does not support the creation of the custom reports.
After creating an iReport using iReports version 3.7.0, to enable the report to be run with the PowerSchool environment, it must first be uploaded to the server.
To deploy the report:
- Click on the Custom Reports option from the State Reporting Menu.
- Click Upload to upload a new report file.
- Click Select to locate the .jasper file that was created when the report was compiled in iReports.
- Click Open after highlighting the file.
- Click the Upload.
This copies the file to the \Tomcat\webapps\StateReporting\reports\custom folder. The report should now be listed in the reports at System Reports > Reports (State Reports) > Custom Reports on the General tab.
To run the report:
- From the System Reports > Reports > Reports (State Reports) >Custom Reports, click on the report name.
- Complete the report options.
- Click Submit.
- The report will open in a new window.
From the System Reports > Reports > Reports (State Reports) >Custom Reports page, to the left of the report name is a link for the properties of the custom report. By clicking on this link:
- The name of the .jasper file for this report displays.
- The name of the report can be edited.
- A description of the report can be edited to display beside the name of the report on the Custom Report page.
- The report can be placed in a category. Reports in the same category are grouped together on the Custom Report page.
- If the Show in Student Report pop-up menu is set to Yes, the report can be run from the State/Province-TX student page for an individual student.
- Click Save to save any changes made to the properties of the report. Click Back to return to the Custom Report page without saving. Click Delete to delete the report from Custom Reports.
