Examples of Additional Staff - Student Instructional Relationship Set up

You can visit the PVAAS login page (https://pvaas.sas.com) to find FAQ documents on both roster verification and teacher-specific reporting.

Example 1:

Initially, Mr. Brown is the Lead teacher assigned at the section level for percentage of allocation of 100% for the entire length of the class (8/25/2022 – 06/05/2023). Later in the term, Mr. Jones, the resource teacher, begins working with student Kristin Green for a percentage of allocation of 25%. Mr. Jones began working with Kristin 30 days after the class started (09/25/2022 – 06/05/2023). Below is an example of how these records would be created in PowerSchool:

Example 2:

Initially, Mr. Brown is the Lead Teacher assigned at the section level for a percentage of allocation of 75% for the entire length of the class (08/25/2022 – 06/05/2023). Mr. Gray is the Co-Teacher assigned at the section level for a percentage of allocation of 25%. Mrs. Jones is an SPED resource teacher assigned to work with student Jane Doe for 20% of her instruction for the PSSA Subtest PSSAM3, beginning that instruction on 12/01/2022. Below is the example of how these records would be created in PowerSchool:

In this example, two teachers were providing instruction to Jane Doe from the beginning of school until Dec 1, 2022. The percentage of allocation from Mr. Brown was 75% and from Mr. Gray it was 25%, for a total of 100% during that time period.

A third teacher started working with Jane Doe starting on Dec. 1, 2022, which forced a changed of allocation for the other two teachers. Based on the % of allocation that Mrs. Jones, the SPED teacher, is providing, the other two teachers % of allocation is adjusted from that point forward. For the three teachers working with Jane Doe beginning on Dec 1, 2022, the percentage of allocation must be changed for a total of 100%: Mrs Jones at 20%, Mr. Brown at 65% and Mr. Gray at 15%.
