Common Descriptor Errors
"Unable to resolve value “X” to an existing 'ExampleDescriptor' resource."
Examples:

Possible Causes:

The descriptor set has not been downloaded.

Check to see if the descriptor set exists (if the element was recently added in an update):

Dashboard > Descriptors (Common Codes) > Review > Downloaded Code Set Values > Use filter function on Code Set Name.

If the descriptor set exists, check to see what value is stored in the field in question:

Use Quick Export or Data Export Manager: Incorrect/invalid field values are often not visible through the UI.

Less Common Descriptor Errors

Duplicated descriptor values:

One set will have ed-fi.org in the namespace.
-
One set will have nmped.org in the namespace.

This needs to be addressed by Support. Please submit a case if you are seeing this issue.

Note: This seems to be rare.

Other Descriptor Errors
Example:
"message": Validation of 'StudentSpecial Education AssociationEvent' failed. \r\n\tSpecialEducationEventTypeDescriptorId is required. \n"

Usually, this occurs when publishing Sped Event data.
