Course Instructor Extract

Introduction

This extract generates a comma-delimited file containing the instructor(s) of each course or section offering. This extract provides snapshot data active on the STARS reporting dates.

The values for Semester, Course Code Long and Section Code Long must match the corresponding values in the Student Course Enrollment Template and Course Template. Also, the combination of Course Code Long and Section Code Long must be unique for each section.

Selection Criteria

Selection criteria determine which database records are used in the report.

Course Section Selection

The report selects course section records from the [Sections] table based on the following criteria:

  • The section must be associated with the appropriate term.
  • The first day of the term must occur on or before the report date.
  • The last day of the term must occur on or after the report date.
  • The section must be associated with a school included in the report.
  • The section must have had an enrollment of one or greater, even when there are no current enrollments.
  • The section must not be excluded from state reporting.
  • The section must be active on the reporting date.
  • The section must have an enrollment of 1 or more students on the reporting date.
