Student Lunch Program Report

Introduction

The Student Lunch Program Report displays each student’s lunch status as of October 1 of the current school year. This report supports compliance with state reporting requirements and helps schools efficiently extract and review lunch program data for Nebraska students.

Selection Criteria

Students are included in the report when all of the following are true:

  • Students are enrolled within the current school year.

  • Students have been actively enrolled at any point on October 1 of the selected year; otherwise, the record is not selected.

  • The selected lunch program record has a program start date prior to the current school year.

  • The Student Lunch Program start and end date range includes October 1 of the selected year.

  • The most recent record that exists on or before October 1 of the selected school year with no program end date is selected.

  • Students are not excluded from state reporting.

State ID Student

 The unique state‑assigned identifier for the student. This is the primary key used by the state to track the student across districts and years.

Year

The school year for which the lunch program information is reported (for example, 2024–2025).

Student Last Name

 The student’s last name as reported to the state. Uses the student’s legal last name if available; otherwise, it uses the last name stored in PowerSchool.

Student First Name

 The student’s first name as reported to the state. Uses the student’s legal first name if available; otherwise, it uses the first name stored in PowerSchool.

Student Middle Name

 The student’s middle name as reported to the state. Uses the student’s legal middle name if available; otherwise, it uses the middle name stored in PowerSchool.

Student Grade Level

The student’s current grade level on October 1 of the selected school year.

Lunch Status

 The student’s lunch program status as of October 1 (for example, Free, Reduced, Paid, or other state‑defined lunch codes), based on the reported lunch program record.

Lunch Status Override

 A manually entered value that overrides the calculated lunch status, when applicable. This is used when districts need to report a status different from the system‑derived value.

Program Start Date

 The first date on which the reported lunch program status became effective for the student.

 The last date on which the reported lunch program status was effective. If blank, the program is considered to be ongoing as of
