Student Enrollments
This category carries information about student school enrollments and sections and includes the following data views and resources:
Student School
This view captures student enrollments in schools in the current year as published in the studentSchoolAssociation resource within the Student Enrollment category. The layout includes the School Name, Student Number, Student Name, Grade Level, Entry Date, Exit Date, State Student Number, Last Publish Date, and the Publishing ID.

Selection Criteria
Records are published if the following criteria are met:
- The student was published in the Student resource.
- The studentUniqueId must be populated in PowerSchool.
- The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
- The student must have an active school enrollment.
- The school must not be excluded from state reporting.
- Regular Enrollments: the student has an enrollment record where the following conditions are met:
- The Entry Date falls on or within the date range defined by [Terms]FirstDay and [Terms]LastDay of the year for the Term selected in the PowerSchool UI.
- The enrollment ExitDate is greater than the EntryDate.
- Summer Withdrawals: the student has a summer withdrawal where the following conditions are met:
- The Entry Date equals the day before the first in-session day in the school calendar for the current school year.
- The Exit Date equals the first in-session day in the school calendar for the current school year.
Resource Output
- A separate studentSchoolAssociation record is published for each student and school enrollment reflected in the [Students] and [Reenrollments] tables based on the year for the Term selected in the PowerSchool UI.
- If the student is or was enrolled in a single school, one record is published.
- If the student was enrolled in a single school, withdrew, and later re-enrolled in the same school, two records are published.
- If the student was enrolled in multiple schools, a record is published for each enrollment.
- A separate StudentSchoolAssociation record is published for each summer withdrawal record meeting the required criteria.
- Summer withdrawal records are independent from other StudentSchoolAssociation records.
- The published exit date is one day prior to the first in-session day in the school calendar in order to ensure the record is outside the current school year.
- The studentSchoolAssociation resource is dependent on the prior publishing of the following resources: student.
Note: After a student record is uploaded, it cannot be modified until a studentSchoolAssociation record has also been uploaded for the same student.- This establishes a relationship between the school, the associated LEA, and the student.
- The LEA then has permission to modify the previously uploaded student record.
- LEAs and Schools may upload (publish) data to the ODS in real time or on-demand ("Run Now" button).

Student Sections
This view captures the section assignments for each student as published in the studentSectionAssociation resource within the Student Enrollment category. The layout includes the School Name, Student Number, Student Name, Grade Level, Course Number, Course Name, Section Number, Term, State Student Number, Last Publish Date, and the Publishing ID.

This resource indicates the course sections to which a student is assigned.

Selection Criteria
Records are published if the following criteria are met:
- The student was published in the Student category.
- The section was published in the Organization Schedules category.
- StudentUniqueId must be populated in PowerSchool.
- The student must not be excluded from state reporting.
- The student must have an active school enrollment.
- The school must not be excluded from state reporting.
- The course must not be excluded from state reporting ("NE_StateExcludeFromReporting").
- The course must have a valid state course code.
- The section must not be excluded from state reporting ("Exclude_State_Rpt_YN").
- The course must not be excluded from Ed-Fi ([S_NE_CRS_X]ExcludeFromEdFi).
- The section must not be excluded from Ed-Fi ([S_NE_SEC_X]ExcludeFromEdFi).
- The section is taught during the year for the Term selected in the PowerSchool UI.
- The section enrollment ExitDate is greater than the EntryDate.
Resource Output
- A separate studentSectionAssociation record is published for each course section in each school in which a student is or was enrolled based on the year for the Term selected in the PowerSchool UI.
- Remote section enrollments are published for the remote school.
- The studentSectionAssociation resource is dependent on the prior publishing of the following resources: student and section.
- LEAs and Schools may upload (publish) data to the ODS in real time or on-demand ("Run Now" button).
