Remote Course Enrollment Impact on Attendance Reports

Analysis to understand how remote enrollment attendance is pulled on the Attendance Report V2 when the report is run from the Home School.

Summary

Scenario 1: When using Remote Course Enrollment without a Concurrent Enrollment/Concurrent PDA in a remote school, attendance data is reported for the Home School.

Scenario 2: When using Remote Course Enrollment with Concurrent Enrollment/Concurrent PDA in a remote school, attendance data is reported for the Home School and the Serving School (Remote Enrolled School).

Scenario 1 – Remote Course Enrollment

  • Student has single Enrollment in Home School
  • Student is enrolled in courses in Home School
  • Student is remote enrolled in courses at another school

Described below are report outputs when run at either the District level or Home School level.

  • IL Student Demographic/Enrollment File Report
    • Pulls one record for enrollment
    • RCDTS Home School value pulls Home School/School of Enrollment
    • RCDTS Serving School value also pulls Home School/School of Enrollment
  • IL Attendance Report V2
    • Pulls one record each for every month of enrollment in Home School with attendance calculated for both Home School and Remote School
    • RCDTS Home School value pulls Home School/School of Enrollment
    • RCDTS Serving School value also pulls Home School/School of Enrollment
    • The report shows attendance data from both Home school and Remote school. For example, if the student is present for the day in the Home school and is absent in the Remote School, the attendance record will reflect in the counts for the appropriate present and absent type codes.
  • IL Course Assignment report
    • Pulls one record each for every course enrolled in Home School and Remote School.
    • For Courses enrolled in Home School –
      • RCDTS Home School value pulls Home School/School of Enrollment
      • RCDTS Serving School value pulls Home School/School of Enrollment
    • For Courses enrolled in Remote School –
      • RCDTS Home School value pulls Remote School
      • RCDTS Serving School value pulls Remote School

Scenario 2 – Concurrent Enrollment with Remote Course Enrollment

  • Student has enrollment in Home School
  • Student has Concurrent Enrollment in Remote School/Concurrent PDA in a remote school
  • Student has courses that are in Home School and Remote School

      • RCDTS Serving School value displays Remote School/Concurrent Enrollment
  • IL Attendance Report V2
    • Pulls two records each for every month of enrollment
