New Reportable CDC When Multiple Schools Share the Same TEA CDC Number

To support exceptional scenarios, a new field is now available on the School Info page to identify the school that “owns” the CDC Number when multiple schools report under the same TEA number. In rare cases when new schools are added to PowerSchool, the School Number and Alternate School Number setups sometimes do not conform to the expected configuration required for multiple PowerSchool schools that share a TEA number. The new field is positioned just below the Alternate School Number with this label and a data entry box for the nine digit reportable CDC: “School is the Owner of this TEA CDC Number.“

  • In the database, this field is in the Texas extension table of schools: S_TX_SCH_SCHOOLS_X.TEDSSchoolName. This is a legacy field that is now re-purposed to hold the reportable CDC number when required.

  • Districts previously identified with a need for this field already have the correct CDC value in place, and no further action is needed.

  • Important! No action is required on the part of any other Texas school district or charter at this time.

  • Alternate CDC Number is blank or is a school within the district

  • The subject has a Final Grade mapped to S1 or S2 in Texas Store Code Mapping

Class Enrollments: If the student has a manual entry stored grades record that meets the above criteria, count the student as enrolled in that subject without requiring a section record.

Passed Algebra I: If the student has a passing manual entry stored grade for course sequence 2, count the student in the passing total without requiring a section record

Count of Classes: In cases where there are no scheduled classes for a particular subject, but students have qualifying manual entry stored grades record for the subject, the number of classes for that subject area is defaulted to 1.
