State Reporting 22.7.3.0 Release Notes

Attendance Change History Report: Version 1.1

The Attendance Change History report page has been updated and now the report parameter drop-down boxes will populate as expected after moving the view to a repo schema call.

To support the Entry/Exit Code changes in PowerSchool 22.5.0 and maintain backward compatibility with earlier versions of PowerSchool, updates have been made and now the end users will see the following:

• PowerSchool version 22.5.0 (or greater) - The Entry/Exit Codes will show as inactive after the defined effective end date.
• PowerSchool versions prior to 22.5.0 - Entry/Exit Codes will behave as they always have (cannot be inactivated).

Student incident Profile: Version 1.2

The Student Incident Profile report has been updated and will now print the incident description up to 4000 characters.

The validation has been updated and this error will no longer propagate in the system log.

Contact Tracing Report: Version 1.5

The Contact Tracing report has been updated to resolve the following error:

ORA-01427: single-row subquery returns more than one row.

Updates are now available to support the calculation of the PK Eligible Previous Year Indicator Code for the PEIMS Fall and Summer Submissions for both TEA Legacy and Ed-Fi reporting for the 2022-23 school year. Next year, this element will no longer be calculated on the fly within the interchanges. Instead, the calculation will now run during a new Texas nightly process. The resulting calculations are stored in the database and available within the Pre-K Special Program record. Overrides to the calculated fields are also available in the Pre-K Special Program record to be used for PK students enrolled as PK in a different district in the prior year, or for other special scenarios.

  • PK Eligible Previous Year Indicator Code (E1649) – Calculated FALL: The existing PK Eligible Previous Year Indicator Code (E1649) field (S_TX_SEN_PREK_X.E1649_PK_ELIG_PREV_YEAR) is converted to a read-only field and re-labeled. This field will store the Fall PEIMS calculation.
  • PK Eligible Previous Year Indicator Code (E1649) – Override FALL: New override field for Fall PEIMS (S_TX_SEN_PREK_X.E1649_PK_ELIG_PREV_YEAR_OVR).
  • PK Eligible Previous Year Indicator Code (E1649) – Calculated SUMR: New read-only field to store the Summer PEIMS calculation (S_TX_SEN_PREK_X.E1649_PK_ELG_PRE_YR_SUMR).
  • PK Eligible Previous Year Indicator Code (E1649) – Override SUMR: New override field for Summer PEIMS (S_TX_SEN_PREK_X. E1649_PK_ELG_OVR_SUMR).
• New Nightly PK Eligible Previous Year Calculation Process: This is initially implemented as a separate preference in District Setup but will be incorporated into a new global Texas nightly process in a subsequent release.
  • Student selection for calculation
    • Student is not flagged as Exclude from State Reporting
    • Student is enrolled in a reportable school
    • Student is or was actively enrolled in Grade PK for at least one day during the year with an ADA Eligibility Code = 1, 2, 3, or 6. (exclude No-Show enrollment records).
    • Student has at least one Pre-K Special Program record in effect during the current year.
  • Pre-K Special Program Record(s) to Populate
    • Most students will have a single Pre-K record in effect per school year; the calcualted values are populated in this record.
    • If a student has multiple Pre-K records in effect in the current year, the calculated values are populated in the most recent record and any prior current year record(s) are left intact.
  • PK Eligible Previous Year Calculated as 0
    • PK students whose age is less than 4 on Sept. 1 of the current year.
    • PK students who currently meet at least one of the following funded PK criteria:
      • Emergent Bilingual (EB)/English learner (EL) = 1
      • Economically Disadvantaged = 99, 01 or 02
      • Military Connected = 1
      • Foster Care = 1, 2, or 3
      • Homeless = 1
      • Star of Texas = 1
    • Default of 0: Any PK students who do not meet any of the criteria for a calculated value of 0 or 1, including students who were not enrolled in the prior year, students with ineligible type ADA codes, and possible other edge case scenarios.
  • PK Eligible Previous Year Calculated as 1: student must meet all criteria
    • Student age on September 1 of the current year is 4 or 5.
    • In the current year, the student does not meet any of the Funded PK Eligibility Criteria listed above.
    • In the prior year, the student met at least one of these criteria.

Updates are now available to support PEIMS Extended Year Submission 4. Interchanges for the extended year collection must be generated after the Year End Process is performed. Select the 2021-22 school year in the runtime parameter.

• Manual Entry Stored Grades Student Beginning and Ending Dates: The record selection logic for manual entry stored grades is modified to filter records based on Student Beginning Date and Ending Date fields in the stored grades records in order to distinguish summer school classes from classes taken in night school during the regular school year, which both have an Explanation Code of “R.”
  • Student Beginning Date > the final instructional day of the prior school year at the school in the stored grades record.
  • Student Ending Date < the first instructional day of the current school year at the school in the stored grades record.
• Student Interchange Indicators: The following indicators are now reported based on the student’s status at any point during the prior school year.
  • Foster Care
  • T-STEM (grades 6-12)
  • ECHS (grades 9-12)
  • P-TECH (grades 9-12)
  • New Tech (grades 7-12)
• All prior Submission 4 functionality and logic related to Bilingual/ESL Summer School, ESY and ADSY remain unchanged.

All remaining content, links and references to the obsolete legacy Texas state reporting and SRUSER content are now removed from PowerSchool.

Student-Parent Interchange: Version 22.7.3
Added existing element HOME-LANGUAGE-CODE (TX-HomeLanguage) as the last element in the StudentExtension complex in the StudentParent Interchange when the selected collection code = TSDS SPPI-14.
