Definition

Blank

Not applicable

1

The student lives in the district and is enrolled in this district

2

The student lives in another district, or is the financial responsibility of another district, but is enrolled in this district (this may include out of state students, parent paid, and other tuitioned students).

3

The student is enrolled in this district as part of open-enrollment – a choice grant program. If the student has a choice of which school to attend (e.g. Choice grant), then this enrollment status should be used.

4

The student is a home school education student participating in funded activities in this school.  You do not need to submit records for home schooled students at this time

5

A student who resides in a NH district, but is tuitioned to an out-of-state public school

6

non-special education student who resides in a NH district, but is placed in a non-public school.

7

Used ONLYin the Fall Submission (BOY).  ES 7 means "The student was in our school on the last day of school last year, did not graduate from our school, and was not given an exit date and exit code in our EOY Enrollment submission. However, she/he did not return to our school this school year because she/he transferred out of district or completed graduation requirements over the summer."  Students who move out of state, transfer to non-public school, move to another public school district, or complete their HiSET during summer break are examples of students who would be reported as enrollment status 7 in the BOY.

8

The student is under the age of 18 and is attending an alternative school day, such as an adult high school, and the student is being monitored by the school.  Students on alternative plans aged 18 or older should be reported as enrollment status 12.   Enrollment status 8 students are required to take the state assessments in ELA, Math and Science.

9

The student is a special education student placed by the district in a non-public school. Enrollment status 9 should only be used for special education students.  Non-special education students who are placed in a non-public school should be reported as enrollment status 6.

10

This status will be used to identify a student who is dually-enrolled in two or more schools (e.g., attending traditional school full time while also taking online coursework through another approved public school).  This code will only be used for the secondary enrollment; the primary enrollment will be indicated with the appropriate enrollment status (e.g., 1, 2, 4, etc).

ES 10 will also be used to indicate a student whose tuition is split between two or more districts, such as through a divorce decree.  In the case of split tuition students, the choice of which record is primary and which is secondary (enrollment status 10) is the decision of the reporting district.

11

The student is attending school in your district through a Foreign Exchange program.  Enrollment status 11 should NOT be used for students from your district who are participating in a foreign exchange program in another country.

12

The student is 18 years of age or older and is attending an alternative school day, such as an adult high school, and the student is being monitored by the school.  Students on alternative plans under the age of 18 should be reported with enrollment status 8.  Enrollment status 12 students are required to take the State assessments in ELA, Math, and Science.
