MSIS 2.0: K12 Organization > Calendar Resource Update

The K12 Organization > Calendar resource is updated and customers can now publish a district calendar to the state operational data store (ODS). Districts must create a calendar at the district level, which must be named as follows:

• <district number> + <space> + “State Reporting”. For example, “1234 State Reporting”.

This calendar is published as the district calendar under the Organization resource.

K12 Student Resource: Version 1.4

The Parent-Guardian section of the K12 Student Resource has been updated to handle multiple Student Contact associations. The system now handles this scenario and publishes the Parent or Guardian's address, name, phone number, and relationships to the state ODS.

All resources are updated to support sub-district capabilities in MS MSIS 2.0 for charter schools and includes publishing of the correct District and School references across the system.

• The metadata tag is updated.

• The K12 Organization > LEA resource is updated to support multiple districts.

• The K12 Organization > School and Calendar are updated to make sure that the district number is propagated correctly.

• The K12 Student resource is updated to publish based on which district they are associated with.

• The K12 Student > Enrollment section is updated to make sure that the district number is propagated correctly.

  • Local Education Agency (LEA) Identifier

  • Responsible District Identifier

  • Responsible School Identifier

  • School Identifier

• The K12 Student Attendance resource is updated to publish based on which district they are associated with.

  • The School Identifier is updated to make sure that the district number is propagated correctly.

• The K12 Student Academic Records resource shall be updated to publish based on which LEA they are associated with.

  • The School Identifier is updated to make sure that the district number is propagated correctly.

This feature affects charter school organizations only and requires additional setup.

1. Configure the Sub-district feature in PowerSchool SIS State/Provincial Reporting.

2. Configure the Sub-district feature in the PowerSchool Data Exchange (DEX) framework.

This may or may not require separate keys/secrets for the districts that they support and depends on the state’s configuration.
