Overview of 2025-2026 Changes

This page discusses 2025-2026 Ed-Fi publishing changes and data collection. This is a high-level summary, with links to detailed information.

Summary of Changes

With the State Reporting Release 25.7.2.0, a new Data Exchange Profile for the school year 2025-2026 has been made available.

  • Refer to the Data Exchange Setup walkthrough in the Quick Reference section of the Ed-Fi Indiana Specific Resources.

  • With the State Reporting Update 25.7.2.0, the 2024-2025 Data Exchange profile will be disabled from the Plugin Configuration, and the 2025-2026 profile will be enabled. The 2025-2026 school year checkbox will be available, but not selected by default. Districts must select, 2025-2026 school year.

Code Set Mappings

  • Attendance Event Code Categories will now be filtered based on Year ID.

  • Email Address Type Code set mappings are now available.

  • The Year-Round Term Type did not roll over correctly last year. This issue has now been resolved.

Publishing Logic Updates to Students' Resources.

  • Students, aka Students Identification and StudentEducationOrganizationAssociation aka Student Demographics, will only be published for students whose enrollment status is either Active or Pre-registered. Records for students outside these statuses will not be published.

  • StudentSchoolAssociation, StudentEducationOrganizationAssociation, Students, student contacts, and student contact associations records will start getting published for a student if the student has a valid school enrollment record in the upcoming school year. We have removed the check from the publishing logic to prevent the publishing of the student resources if the students' entry date is before the first in-session date of the school year.

  • Contacts:

    • The LegalDesignee element will now be pulled from a field called IEPAccess, and the field is available in the studentContactDetailCoreFields table.

    • The primary field for LegalDesignee will now be isCustodial, and the newly introduced IEPAccess field will only act as an override.

    • The Contact email address and the email address type will now get published as per the following logic:

      • The email address marked as Primary will get published over other email addresses.

      • If the contact has only one email address, then it will get published by default, and the publishing email type will be Home/Personal.

      • For Districts that have their own email address types, code set mappings are now available to map the email address to ensure the correct email type gets published.

      • State-supported email address types are also available.

    • School Enrollment:
A new element called EntryGradeLevelReasonDescriptor will not get published as a part of the StudentSchoolEnrollment record. The new field is now available on the Student Membership page for current school enrollment records. Eligible values are:

      • EX_MTH - Student Passed 3rd Grade Math Assessment

      • EX_INV - Student Retained 2x previous to 3rd Grade w/Interventions

      • EX_3RT - Student Retained previously in 3rd Grade

      • EX_SPE - Retention Exemption based on IEP CCC Decision

      • EX_MLL - Retention Exemption based on ILP Committee Decision
The values are available under the field called GCE_Reason, and the field is available under S_IN_STU_X, S_IN_REN_X, and S_IN_Concurrent_C.

The new field is scheduled to be added to the current enrollment page in upcoming updates.

  • Accommodations:

    • The User Interface for the Student Accommodations has been updated for better usability, and all of the information is available under one page starting the 2025-2026 school year.

    • As per the new DOE guidelines, the new codes are now available, and the values will be migrated to the newer values as per the mapping provided by the DOE.

    • Districts will have to make sure that the Assessment Accommodations have been downloaded from the Data Exchange Dashboard for the 2025-2026 school year.

    • Student Accommodations now has its own line item in the DEX dashboard starting the 2025-2026 school year, and the resource will not be part of the Enrollments anymore.

    • The data entry page will look at the applicable combinations based on the downloads.

  • Programs:

    • Special Education Program record updates: We will only publish the records for Non-public schools, and as per DOE guidelines, we will only publish the Choice Voucher records.

    • Multilingual Program records:

      • A new element called ServiceDescriptor and the publishing value will be Proficient-Additional Evidence Review.

      • We will only publish the ServiceDescriptor if below criteria are met:

        • The English Proficient Level must be more than or equal to 4.3 and less than or equal to 4.9.

        • The instructional program value must be (5) Regular Education Non-EL.

        • The Proficient Evidence checkbox must be selected.

    • Virtual Program records:

      • New elements:

        • ServiceDescriptor

          • (3) LEA and 3rd Party Educator

        • ServiceBeginDate

        • ServiceEndDate

      • Service Begin and End dates have their own fields, but if left blank, the values from the Program start and end dates will be pulled by default.

    • Curricular Material Reimbursement Program records will not be published anymore.

    • Title I Program records:

      • If a school has been marked as a Title I school, but some students do not receive services. Marking those students as Title I NO will publish the records with the students' start and end dates of the enrollment record, but without any services. Users will not have to create those records manually anymore.

  • Course Transcript:

    • Records will now have the Student Section data for the applicable Method credit earned types.
