State Reporting 22.7.1.0 Release Notes

Data collection updates to support 2022-23 NCEA Data Bank reporting are now available for the Diocese, School and Student pages. There are no changes to the NCEA Staff page. The related report updates will follow in a subsequent release.

  • Number of principals who were employed during the last school year: new source fields are added.

  • New explanatory text added for “Has diagnosed disability” to indicate "Includes ADD/ADHD, Autism, Emotional/behavioral, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, speech/language impairments, visual impairments".
  • The obsolete “Eligible for Title I Services” element is removed.
  • New logic for “Receives free/reduced meals” is implemented.
    • If the school-level setting for federal nutrition program is not checked, no students can be flagged for free/reduced lunch and the field displays “Not Offered.” Explanatory text indicates “School offers federal nutrition programs is not selected on the NCEA school page.”
    • If the school-level setting for “All students in the school receive free/reduced lunch” is checked, the field displays “Yes.” Explanatory text indicates “All students will be reported as receiving free/reduced lunch based on the NCEA school page setting.”
    • If the school offers federal nutrition, but the setting for “All students in the school receive free/reduced lunch” is not checked, the checkbox for “Receives free/reduced meals” is enabled and individual students can be selected as applicable.
  • Eligible for free/reduced meals: New explanatory text is added to indicate “Students whose household income is below the U.S. Department of Agriculture threshold should be selected as eligible for free or reduced priced lunch regardless of whether the school offers federal nutrition programs.”

Data collection updates for the 2022-23 school year are now available.

• C0040 Accreditation Program Area in District > Courses
  • The database field length is modified from 1 character to 2 characters.
  • A new code value of (10) Computer Science is now available in the dropdown list.
• D0218 Service/Facility Type: A new code value of (15) Therapeutic Program/Classroom is now available in the dropdown list on the various Transfer Info pages, Enrollment Function pages, and on the Iowa Enrollment tab.
• D0224 Destination Code: A new code value of (16) Charter School is now available in the dropdown list on the various Transfer Info pages, Enrollment Function pages, and on the Iowa Enrollment tab.
• E0025 - Zero Tolerance Policy Expulsion in Log Entries
  • This field is conditionally hidden if Action Taken is not code (3) Expulsion or (4) Expulsion following a suspension for the same incident.
  • If Action taken is 3 or 4, the existing validation is converted from a warning to a hard stop to require user input before saving the record: "Zero Tolerance Policy Expulsion must = 0 or 1 when Action Taken = 3 or 4."

Iowa ELL Extract: Version 22.7.1
Updates are now available for the ELL extract for the 2022-23 school year along with other changes to the State Reporting page.

• ELL Extract
  • A new "504 Status" element is added directly after Paper Tester.
    • If coded as (1) Yes, 1 is output; otherwise 0.
    • Source field: S_IA_STU_X.SECTION_504
  • A new "AlternateELP" element is added as the last column of the report. This element is always output as blank.
• State Reports Page
  • The obsolete "Iowa Testing Bar Code Report" is removed from the page.
  • A new "State Reports" link now displays in the left navigation bar under the Reports category. Click this link to directly access the State Reports page.
