Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) 2021 - 2022
Introduction
The purpose of the U.S. Department of Education's Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is to obtain data related to the nation's public school districts' and elementary and secondary schools' obligation to provide equal educational opportunity. To fulfill this goal, the CRDC collects a variety of information, including student enrollment and educational programs and services data, that are disaggregated by race/ethnicity, sex, limited English proficiency, and disability. The CRDC is a longstanding and important aspect of the Department's Office for Civil Rights overall strategy for administering and enforcing the civil rights statutes for which it is responsible. This information is also used for policymaking by other ED offices, other federal agencies, and researchers outside of ED.
This section provides the required setup elements and report details for accurate CRDC reporting for Colorado state reporting. The information is grouped by the District, School, Staff, and Student setup items, and then by CRDC reports.
The Colorado Department of Education will submit what 2021-22 data it has collected from local education agencies into the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) system to assist districts with this federal collection. Then CDE will leave it to districts to fill in the missing information and update any data. The column “**User Input Expected in UI” in the tables of the sub-sections indicates whether a user input is expected in the UI (Y) or whether the data element is provided by the SEA (N) - State Education Agency (Colorado Department of Education).
For more details on the data elements CDE provides, refer to the 2021-2022 CRDC List of Elements Colorado (CDE) Provides (XLS) on the CDE page for CRDC Data Provision.
