Special Education Environment (Placement) Codes
The following special education placement codes must be assigned at the student level.
Note: Codes 40-48 are for children ages 3-5 only.

Codes for Regular Early Childhood Programs (head start, kindergarten, preschool, group child development) for children ages 3-5 | |
40 | Attends a regular early childhood program at least 10 hours per week and receives the majority of hours of special education and related services in the regular early childhood program |
41 | Attends a regular early childhood program at least 10 hours per week and receives the majority of hours of special education and related services in some other location |
42 | Attends a regular early childhood program less than 10 hours per week and receives the majority of hours of special education and related services in the regular early childhood program |
43 | Attends a regular early childhood program less than 10 hours per week and receives the majority of hours of special education and related services in some other location |
