Troubleshooting Alberta Client Certificate Key Import

The Digital Certificate Manager provides the following error message when the Alberta Client Certificate fails to import into the Key Store.

Solution

The certificate must be in PKCS12 or PEM Format.

 

The Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files required to import the certificate are not installed correctly.

Repeat the steps in the Install Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) section, and restart PowerSchool/PowerTeacher services.

The certificate password is typed incorrectly. Ensure that you are using simple password.

Export the Alberta Client Certificate Key using a simple password and try again.
